Episode 42 – The Evolution Of The PC

In this episode, C2 and Mr K sit down to talk about the evolution of the PC. From the late 70s and the 1977 trinity all the way up until 1990!

Highlights include:

  1. 1981 - IBM's first PC, the IBM 5150, was introduced.
  2. 1982 – Commodore 64 and NEC PC-98 with dual 5.25 inch floppy disk drives.
  3. 1983 – The rise of software as Lotus 123, dBase 3 and WordPerfect are launched.
  4. 1984 – The Apple MacIntosh is released.
  5. 1985 – Amiga 1000 by Commodore. Gateway 2000 is founded. PC’s Limited (Later Dell) Turbo PC hits the market. Intel launches the 386 CPU, the first 32 bit processor!

The PS/2, the 486 chip, Packard Bell, Dell, the SoundBlaster card and much, much more!
